STRUCTURAL HEALTH MONITORING
Extracting the condition of a structure from how it moves. This site collects the teaching material and worked computations for the SHM module — from the sensors that measure vibration, through the signal processing that turns acceleration into physical motion, to modal analysis, damage detection, and digital twins.

- Signal processing & FFT → — the worked example: turning a measured accelerogram into velocity and displacement without the baseline drift that wrecks the naive approach.
- Interactive demo → — explore naive vs corrected integration on a synthetic pulse and the 1940 El Centro record.
- Full teaching outline → — the nine modules.

The teaching sequence (see the Teaching menu) runs from the SHM framework and structural-dynamics foundations, through sensing and signal processing, to system identification, feature extraction, machine-learning damage detection, and digital twins.
